Registration - 8:00-9:15 A.M.

Mandatory shooter's meeting at 9:30 A.M. sharp. All shooters must attend this meeting to participate. Entry fee is $10 for members, $20 for non-members.

SASS Rules Apply! - Safety rules will be explained at the shooter's meeting and will be strictly enforced. Junior shooters under 21 are welcome to shoot at River Junction as long as they demonstrate competence with their firearms and basic safety to the safety officer and are accompanied by a supervising adult in compliance with PA law. Required Apparel - Dress appropriate to the period 1860 to 1899.(No duds???? Check out the links to our favorite Sutlers.) The minimum requirements are cowboy hat, jeans or skirt (no designer jeans of any kind), and long sleeve shirt or blouse with button front. (If it's a hot day partner, roll those sleeves up.) Victorian style clothing can be worn, such as derbies and high top hats, old style suits, etc. for the gents and bonnets, feathered hats, long dresses and high top button shoes for the ladies. It's not mandatory to dress as a cowboy. Indian scout, cavalry officer, blacksmith, doctor, school teacher, judge, storekeeper or undertaker of the "period" is OKEY DOKEY. Is the old gold sack low???? Well, Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc. are good sources of clothing to get you started.

Equipment - Ya need to get yer hands on the following:

Two single-action revolvers with holster

Lever action rifles and carbines with external hammer chambered for a pistol caliber

A double barrel side by side shotgun in 10, 12, 16 or 20 gauge
Old time pre1900 lever or pump shotguns with external hammers such as Winchester 1887 or Model '97 are allowed. (Military Model '97 is not allowed).

Rifle and pistol bullets must be lead alloy only.
No jacketed ammo or gas checks allowed.
Maximum velocity for pistol cartrides is 1000 fps and rifle is 1400fps.
Shotshells #6 or smaller (71/2 is ideal).
Modern replicas of all firearms are, of course, legal.
